PageSpeed API configuration
Setting up your Google PageSpeed API key.
Overview
PageSpeed monitors call the Google PageSpeed Insights API. The API works anonymously but caps you at a few requests per minute — add your own key to lift the limit.
Getting an API key
- Go to the Google Cloud Console
- Create a new project or select an existing one
- Enable the PageSpeed Insights API
- Create credentials (API key)
- Copy the generated API key
Configuring the API key
- Navigate to Settings in the sidebar
- Scroll to the PageSpeed section
- Enter your API key in the PageSpeed API key field
- Click Save at the bottom of the page
Only Admins and Superadmins can configure the PageSpeed API key.
Without an API key, you're limited to a few requests per minute. With a key, you can make thousands of requests per day.
