PageSpeed monitoring
Creating PageSpeed monitors
Setup and configuration for performance monitoring.
Overview
PageSpeed monitors run Google Lighthouse against a URL on a schedule. Each run records the four Lighthouse scores and the Core Web Vitals.
Creating a PageSpeed monitor
- Navigate to PageSpeed in the sidebar
- Click Create monitor
- Enter the URL to monitor
- Set the check frequency (30 minutes is the maximum — set lower at your own quota risk)
- Click Create monitor
Configuration options
- URL: The page to analyze (must be publicly accessible)
- Display name: Optional friendly name for the monitor
- Check frequency: How often to run audits. The interval dropdown offers 15 s, 30 s, 1 m, 2 m, 3 m, 4 m, 5 m, 10 m, 15 m, and 30 m (the longest interval available in the UI). PageSpeed audits hit Google's API on every run, so choose the longest interval that still gives you the cadence you need.
PageSpeed checks use Google's PageSpeed Insights API. Configure an API key in Settings → PageSpeed for higher rate limits.
