Maintenance windows

One-time vs recurring

Different scheduling options.

Overview

The create form has a Repeat selector with three options: Don't repeat, Repeat daily, and Repeat weekly. Pick one based on whether the window is a one-off or a standing slot.

Don't repeat

Use for one-off events — a migration, a deploy, a hardware swap. The window runs at the scheduled start and closes at start + duration.

Repeat daily

The window advances by 24 hours after each run. Good for nightly backups or any job that runs every day at the same local time.

Repeat weekly

The window advances by 7 days after each run. Good for weekly patch windows or scheduled reboots.

Duration

Duration is stored as a number plus a unit (seconds, minutes, hours, days). Set it to the longest the maintenance can realistically take — alerts stay suppressed for the whole window.
