Quick start guide

Overview

This guide walks you through creating your first monitor and setting up notifications. You'll have a working monitoring setup in about 5 minutes.

Creating your first monitor

1. Navigate to Uptime in the sidebar
2. Click Create monitor in the top right
3. Select HTTP/HTTPS as the monitor type
4. Enter the URL you want to monitor (e.g., https://example.com)
5. Set the check interval (1-5 minutes recommended for critical services)
6. Click Create monitor to start monitoring

Verifying your monitor

After creating a monitor, Checkmate immediately performs the first check. You can verify it's working by:

1. Click on your new monitor to open the details page
2. Check the status indicator shows Up (green)
3. View the response time in the metrics panel

Setting up notifications

To receive alerts when your monitor goes down:

1. Navigate to Notifications in the sidebar
2. Click Create notification
3. Select your preferred channel (email, Slack, Discord, etc.)
4. Configure the notification settings
5. Click Test to verify the notification works
